Dr. Winnie Rugutt-Chebon serves as the Program Lead at the Africa Center for the Study of the United States (ACSUS) at the University of Nairobi. In this capacity, she provides strategic direction and oversees the center's daily operations, focusing on fostering intellectual and cultural exchanges to enhance the understanding of Africa-U.S. relations. Under her leadership, ACSUS has become a pivotal hub for research and dialogue on U.S.-Africa interactions. ​

In addition to her role at ACSUS, Dr. Rugutt-Chebon is a lecturer in the Department of Diplomacy and International Studies (DDIS) at the University of Nairobi, specializing in the international relations of African states and their impact on development. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Nairobi, a Master's in International Relations, and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from the United States International University-Nairobi. Previously, she served as the Academic Program Coordinator at Kenya's National Defense College and Defense Staff College. Dr. Rugutt-Chebon is also an Associate Fellow at the HORN International Institute for Strategic Studies, contributing her expertise in diplomacy, geopolitics, and foreign relations
